First. we will learn how to log into the correct version of RE and the second one will be on opening a record that is open by another user!
First:
We have two Raiser's Edge Databases; Production and Training. If you have recently attended training and try to log into Citrix, the following image may come up:
You will notice that the only Raisers Edge
icon is training. Click the UP icon at the top to exit from Training. The
following screen will appear, Raiser's Edge Prod is the live version of
Raiser's Edge. Click on the Raiser’s Edge Prod icon. *NOTE*
You will only use Training while in classes and Sandbox is only to be used by
Percy Garcia and Systems Services.

System inquiries and updates should only be done in Raiser’s Edge Prod.
Second:
Sometimes the following message comes up
when you attempt to open a record that is already open. Please note, that while
you are able to view the record, you will not be able to make and save any
changes. You must wait for the person to close the record before you can
make and save your own changes. For this same reason we should be mindful
and remember to close records immediately after either viewing or updating
information on it.
